Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center-Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate with Applied Systems Engineering, 7510 Benbrook Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76126-2543 on an other than full and open competitive basis to purchase 10 (ten) Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers. The quantity of 10 (ten) Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs) will be procured as follows: In the Base Period 4 (four) will be ordered. The 4 (four) to be ordered will include 1 Each-Part No. 367L, L Band 250W CW TWTA; 1 Each-Part No. 367S, S Band 200W CW TWTA, 1 Each-Part No. 367C, C Band 200W CW TWTA and 1 Each-Part No. 367X, X Band, 200W CW TWTA. In Option Period One 3 (three) are anticipated to be ordered. The 3 (three) anticipated to be ordered will include 1 Each-J Band; 1 Each-L Band and 1 Each-S Band. In Option Period Two 3 (three) are anticipated to be ordered. The 3 (three) anticipated to be ordered will include 1 Each-C Band; 1 Each-X Band and 1 Each-L Band. Applied Systems Engineering is the only manufacturer producing Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers that are compatible with the EW simulator and Mobile Remote Emitter System (MRES). In addition, the software that is used to control the transmission of emitter simulations only works with Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers manufactured by Applied Engineering. The solicitation for these commercial items is being prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12. Delivery of the first 4 (four) TWTAs will occur approximately 10 months after contract award. The remainder of the 6 (six) TWTAs will be delivered, as they are required over the next 2 option periods. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price IDIQ contract with a base period and 2 option periods will be utilized to procure the TWTAs. The TWTAs are to be delivered to the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) Electronic Warfare (EW) and Radar Cross Section (RCS) Branch, Naval Air Warfare Center-Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD. Items shall be shipped FOB Destination and inspection and acceptance at destination.
