Description

Laundry equipment for the Phoenix, AZ VA Medical Center, including delivery and installation. Solicitation is expected to be issued on or about May 8, 2001. All responsible sources may submit proposals which will be considered. The solictation will be posted electronically at http://www.va.gov/oa&mm/busopp/sols.htm on or about the issue date. Request for copies of the solicitation from the Contracting Officer must be received in writing. ITEM 1, SMALL PIECE FOLDING MACHINE, 1 each: Furnish and install microprocessor-controlled Small Piece Folder capable folding pajama tops, pajama bottoms, robes, terry bath towels, bed pads and gowns. Folders shall be located near the folding table so they may be used in tandem. Folder shall include a digital counter and return-to-feed conveyor. 1. Folding Machine shall be microprocessor controlled with trouble shooting circuitry. Digital display for face width in inches and running count in stack, stack eject setting and total number of pieces. 2. Folding machine shall be capable of being programmed for seventy five (75) different items and folds. 3. Folding machine is capable of being programmed by keypad for air assisted French fold items up to 32 inches by 72 inches, cross folds in half folds, quarter folds and one third folds. Knife-thru, pinch-roll cross folds. 4. Machine is capable of folding terry towels, hand towels, bed pads, pajama tops, pajama bottoms, robes and patient gowns. 5. Machine is capable of automatic stacking in increments of 5's, 10's 15's 20's and 25's. 6. Machine has quality grading controls for stained and torn items. 7. Electrical Requirements 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 hertz 8. Four(4) each lockable castors required 9. Single operator with return to feed conveyor. 10. LED piece counter required. 11. Folder shall be equipped with reverse jog capabilities for removing jammed articles and have electronic jam shutoff. 12. Machine shall be equipped with an illuminated emergency stop button when activated. Normal stop and emergency stop buttons shall be colored RED.
