- Reference: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the Newington Data Center. THIS NOTICE WAS PREVIOUSLY POSTED APRIL 23, 2001. THE PURPOSE OF THIS REVISION IS TO NOTIFY VENDORS THAT A PREPROPOSAL CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD AS FOLLOWS: DATE: 23 MAY 2001. PLACE: U.S. CUSTOMS SERVICE, 7681 BOSTON BLVD., SPRINGFIELD, VA 22153. TIME: 1:00 PM TO 3:00 PM. THE CONFERENCE WILL PROVIDE VENDORS AN OPPORTUNITY TO VIEW AND ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT THE EXISTING UPS SYSTEM. IN ADDITION, THE CONTRACTING OFFICER WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS REQUIREMENT WILL BE RELEASED 10 MAY 2001. COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE AT THE PREPROPOSAL CONFERENCE. PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR INTENT TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE BY FORWARDING AN E-MAIL TO: clarence.w.abernathy@customs.treas.gov or fax 317-298-1244. The purpose of this requirement is to replace the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system. The current system is listed as follows: (6) EPE (now MGE) Technologies System 4000 UPS 300KVA; (1) MGE parallel cabinet; (1)MGE maintenance bypass cabinet. The MGE System 4000 is a 300KVA/240KW UPS system excepting 480v, 60hz input and producting 480/277v, 60hz output. The system has alarms on each of the 6 units. In addition, there is a remote enuciator panel located in the operator's console area, which displays error conditions. The remote monitoring capability operates through the Data Trax monitoring system. The NDC electrical system supports the data center and network environments and is a key element in the reliability of the data center. The proposed requirement is being competed on an unrestricted basis. All responsible sources will be considered by the agency. A contract will be awarded to the contractor that provides the overall best value to the Government. The tradeoff process will be used for source selection using weighted factors.
