Description

Contruction of two identical 150 bed high security housing units to integrate with the existing facility at the United States Peniteniary Marion, Route 5 & Little Grassy Road, Marion IL 62959. All work shall be completed in accordance with the bound scope of work, specifications and drawings in the solicitation packet, while maintaining compliance with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations. The solicitation packets WILL NOT be available until o/a May 5/16/01. There will be a non refundable bid deposit. The cost of the packet is not known at this time. For information on cost, and where to send checks, please contact David Pool at(618)998-0075. Local plan rooms will have specification packets avialable to review at no cost. A prebid meeting is scheduled for 5/31/01 at 9:00AM at the Training Center. Proceed to the first gated Security Check Point for directions. Bid Opening date is scheduled for 6/19/01. Bid opening will be in the Kansas City, KS Regional Office. Project completion time is 620 calendar days. The project is not set aside for small business. The construction magnitude is over $10,000,000.00. NAICS Code is 233220 and Size Standard is 27.5 Million. Bid, Performance and Payment Bonds are required. Insurance is required for the duration of the project, and contractor will be required to submit a Certificate of Insurance. Work is to be performed in a correctional setting and contractor and staff will be subject to background investigations and security procedures. See numbered Note 26. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Agency.
