Description

NASA/KSC plans to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the production and delivery of Liquid Oxygen, Type II, Grade A, in accordance with MIL-PRF-25508F dated October 19, 1995 and Liquid Nitrogen, Type II, Grade B, in accordance with MIL-PRF-27401D dated October 3, 1995. Delivery of product by over-the-road, bulk cryogenic tanker trucks is required. The average size of deliveries is 25 tons per tanker truck. Multiple truck loads per day may be required. Delivery of product is to John F. Kennedy Space Center, Florida. FOB destination is required. The Best Estimated Quantities (BEQ's) per year is 25,760 tons of liquid oxygen and 9,000 tons of liquid nitrogen to the delivery point. The provisions and clauses in the IFB are those in effect through FAC 97-25. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 32512 and 1,000 employees, respectively. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about May 7, 2001 with an anticipated bid due date of on or about June 7, 2001. All qualified responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
