Description

This is a modification to the original synopsis dated 24 April 2001 for N62799-01-B-0011. This Invitation for Bid (IFB) is for the repairs to Barge YFN-978. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: drydocking, structural inspection/repairs, tank and pipe fender inspection/test, removal of king posts, hull preservation, painting interior of deckhouse, zinc replacement, install wireways, non-skid, repair coamings, install flood alarms, replace heater, repair/replace lifelines, repair deck hatches, inspect/refurbish anchor system, remove backup electrical system and incidental related work. Vessel description: 120'2" long, 34' wide, 253 long tons. The scheduled dates of availability are 01 August 01 to 01 November 01. The contractor will pick-up and deliver vessel. The IFB will be issued on or about 25 MAY 01. Bids shall be due 27 June 01. Sources who currently hold, or are qualified for and willing to enter into an Agreement for Boat Repair/Master Ship Repair Agreement (ABR/MSRA) in accordance with DFARS 217.71 prior to award, may submit a proposal which shall be considered by this agency. Firms that do not possess either an ABR or an MSRA are ineligible for award unless adequate time exists to permit an assessment of the ABR/MSRA application and to execute the ABR/MSRA agreement(s) without impacting the vessel's availability dates. The IFB, when issued, will be available for downloading from the following website: www.supship.navy.mil.
