Description
The Fleet Industrial Supply Center Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to acquire oily waste removal services in support of the USS John F. Kennedy and the USS Barry during Fleet Week 01 on a unrestricted basis. The Kennedy will be docked at P&O ports located at pier 88 Manhattan and the Barry will be docked at Stapleton Pier in Staten Island during the annual Fleet Week celebration starting on 23 May thur 30 May 01. The contractor shall provide an approved water conveyance for holding and transporting oily waste as permitted by local laws and regulations The Kennedy and the Barry shall have continuos access to the oily waste conveyance for discharging oily waste at periodic intervals, with the exception of 3 hours maximum absence in any 24 hour period. The contract shall provide all required licensing for the disposal of the oily waste and must provide a manifest to the Navy of the amount of oily waste removed. The contractor(s) must provide a minimum of 500 feet hoses to connect to the ship. The oily waste barge will have fendering and mooring lines as to not bump or damage either the JFK or the Barry. It is estimated that the Kennedy will discharge approximated 150,000 liter per day. The estimated discharge for the USS Barry is not yet known. The contractor shall remove the oily waste barge by no later than 0600 on 30 May 01. This acquisition will be processed as a commercial items procurement using FAR sub-part 13.5 entitled "Test Program for Certain Commercial Items". An award of a firm fixed price commerical items purchase order will result from this acquisition effort. The SIC code for this procurement action is 562211.
