Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) intends to make a single contract award to a responsible entity for the provision of inpatient/outpatient hospital facility services at the Federal Correctional Institution located at Littleton, Colorado (hereinafter referred to as FCI Englewood). The provision of hospital services shall be accomplished using facilities within a 20-mile radius of FCI Englewood. FCI Englewood is located at 9595 West Quincy Avenue, Littleton, Colorado, 80123. Officially designated as medium custody level facility, FCI Englewood has an inmate-population of approximately 1,020 convicted felons of diverse nationalities. When medical needs arise which cannot be provided internally by FCI Englewood medical staff, referrals are made to community-based providers. It is the goal of this solicitation to award a contract that will provide necessary hospital facility services for both inpatient admissions and outpatient services. Based on past requirements the estimated maximum total dollar amount of services required is estimated between $900,000 to $1,000,000 dollars (five-years), or $180,000 to $200,000 per year. This amount is estimated and is not guaranteed. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 622110. The BOP intends to award an Indefinite-Delivery, Requirements-type contract with a 12 month Base period and 4, 12-month option periods. Based on previous Inpatient/Outpatient use, the BOP is estimating the following amount of Inpatient/Outpatient Services for each contract period. Base Year -- Date of Award (DOA) through 12 months from DOA; 100 Inpatient Days, 180 Outpatient Visits: Option Year 1 -- 13 months through 24 months from DOA; 100 Inpatient Days, 210 Outpatient Visits; Option Year 2 -- 25 months through 36 months from DOA; 100 Inpatient Days, 250 Outpatient Visits; Option Year 3 -- 37 months through 48 months from DOA; 100 Inpatient Days, 275 Outpatient Visits; Option Year 4 -- 49 months through 60 months from DOA; 100 Inpatient Days, Outpatient: 300 Outpatient Visits. Federal penal institution, security requirements apply. Anticipated solicitation issue date is on or about 6/01/2001. Solicitation proposal due date will be established based on actual issuance date.
