Description

The work to be performed includes demolition and removal of the existing 50-foot wide stone and mortar spillway section at the Northgate dam site, along with the rock/masonry abutments on each end; furnishing and driving approx. 1100 square feet of steel sheet piling at the Northgate dam site; removing and salvaging approximately 88 feet of 48-inch corrugated metal pipe at two sites; extending an existing 48-inch corrugated metal pipe using approximately 36 feet of the salvaged 48-inch corrugated metal pipe at a single site; furnishing and placing approximately 94 (8 feet X 8 feet) articulted concrete mats; placing and filling approx. 195 government furnished polyviyl coated steel wire mesh gabion mattresses (12 feet long by 6 feet wide by 9 inches high; furnishing earthwork and gravel surfacing for approx. 989 feet of road/dike; and furnishing and placing riprap upstream at all six sites and downstream of the Northgate dam site, with filter fabric under all the riprap, articulated concrete mats, and gabion mattresses. The estimated price of the work is $100,000 to $250,000. The work is located at six different locations approximately 17 miles northwest of Kenmare, North Dakota, in Burke County. Solicitation packages will be available approximately May 10, 2001. The bid opening is tentatively scheduled for 2:00 p.m., on June 12, 2001, at the Bureau of Reclamation's Dakotas Area Office, 304 East Broadway, Bismarck, North Dakota. The contract is to be completed no later than 120 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation; additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a check or money order of $9.00 each. After issuance the solicitation may be viewed, without charge at the office shown above, or at the Bureau's office at 316 North 26th Street, Room 2031 Federal Bulding, Billings, Montana. The small business size standard is $17,000,000, and the standard industrial code is 1629.
