- Description
- This is a combined CBD/Solicitation issued in accordance with FAR Part 13. This announcement represents the only notice. No hard copy will be made available for distribution. Note 22 applies, however, all offers received within 15 days (in lieu of 45) will be considered. The government intends to award, on a Sole Source basis, an order to Opto-Knowledge Systems Inc., for the following task. Period of Performance will be: Base: 6 months, and Option 1: 6 months from date option is exercised. Provisions for exercising of an Option for Field Trials is included in this announcement (FAR 52.217-5 and 52.217-8). Task as follows: Enhanced Target Detection Using Spectro-Polarimetric Imaging. SCOPE: This task provides for developing an enhanced Spectro-Polarimetric Imaging target detection sensor. Technical Requirements: Base, Sensor Development. The contractor shall design, fabricate and test a Spectro-Polarimetric Imaging senor. The contractor shall establish tunable filter performance characteristics for polarimetry (with CRI), define camera requirements, design software integration tools to incorporate polarimetric control. All characteristics and requirements shall be input in the final summary report.The contractor shall develop the software drivers and user interface required to control the added features of polarimetric data control. The contractor shall design, fabricate and assemble the required components and adapters to interface the filter and camera. The design shall be provided in a final summary report. The contractor shall perform laboratory tests of the system, demonstrate the ability to acquire spectral image cubes at different polarization, and compare results with the unpolarized spectral imaging camera. The results of the tests shall be provided in a final summary report. Option 1, Field Trials: The contractor shall participate in field trials at a Government test site. The contractor shall collect and reduce data during field trials. (For planning purposes, use Naples, Italy as test site). Government Furnished Equipment: None. Travel: Long distance travel is authorized if option one is exercised. The Destination will be determined upon exercise of option one. Security: Unclassified. Place of Performance: Contractor's facilities and Government test facility (TBD). Period of Performance: Base -- 6 months from date of award; Option 1 -- 6 months from exercise of option. 52.217-5 Evaluation of Options, and 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services apply.
