Description
This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for commercial items to furnish all personnel, equipment, material, facilities, and other resources required to provide HVAC duct cleaning services (with asbestos abatement and lead-based paint remediation tasks, as needed) for Los Angeles Air Force Base Areas A, B, Lawndale Annex in El Segundo, CA, and Ft MacArthur in San Pedro, CA, 20 miles south of Los Angeles Air Force Base. The Government intends to award a single indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, with the primary work centering on cleaning rectangular and round ducts from four to 16 inches in diameter. Additional work includes standard HVAC system cleaning, maintenance, and minor repair, to include asbestos abatement and lead-based paint removal if detected while performing duct cleaning services. The duration of the IDIQ contract period will be for a base year and four (4) option years. Estimated date of contract award is on or about 1 July 2001. The contract will include provisions for wages and fringe benefits in accordance with the Department of Labor Wage Determination No. 94-2047 and Davis Bacon Act Wage Determination General Decision No. CA010033. This synopsis is made solely to support the Government's market research efforts. A determination has not yet been made whether sufficient Small Businesses or Small Businesses within the 8(a) program are available for this requirement. Based in part on responses to this synopsis, the Government shall determine the feasibility to set-aside or offer to 8(a). A second synopsis will be issued once the decision is made. Interested large and small businesses should respond by providing the Contracting Office listed below with a statement of capabilities to perform NAICS, Administrative and Support Services Code 56179 -- Other Services to Buildings and Dwellings (SIC Code 7699, Furnace Ducts, Chimney, and Gutter Cleaning Services). Such responses are requested as early as possible, but not later than 15 calendar days from the date of this notice. Replies are requested from all interested qualified businesses.
