- Description
- Date for receipt of proposals: Thursday, June 28, 2001 Proposals are requested to revise, continuously update and deliver any or all of four (4) separate advanced technologies courses. However, proposers are strongly encouraged to submit proposals for all four courses. Each subcontract is three (3) years with a two (2) year option to be exercised solely at the discretion of Rutgers University. All four courses are designed to reach the ITS community. Each course already exists and instructional materials will be provided with the RFP. The four courses are defined below: Intelligent Transportation Systems for Transit: Solving Real Problems (ID005) consisting of sixteen (16) hours of instruction over two (2) days per delivery with up to sixteen (16) deliveries within three (3) years of the contract signing and up to 10 deliveries over the option period, if exercised. This course will be offered to managers, service planners, senior operational, maintenance, and fleet management staff, senior customer relations and security staff and persons interested in learning about potentially useful technologies. Systematic Approach to Adopting New Technologies (ID010) consisting of sixteen (16) hours of instruction over two (2) days per delivery with up to sixteen (16) deliveries within three (3) years of the contract signing and up to 10 deliveries over the option period, if exercised. This course will be offered to transit agency personnel who are engaged in procuring new technologies, including end-users of the proposed systems, as well as specialists from the legal, procurement, and project management disciplines. Reinventing Transit: Planning Information-Based Transit Services (ID008) consisting of sixteen (16) hours of instruction over two (2) days per delivery with up to sixteen (16) deliveries within three (3) years of the contract signing and up to 10 deliveries over the option period, if exercised. This course will be offered to transit and paratransit managers, transit and paratransit service planners, scheduling staff, and long-term planners. Transportation planners from local and regional governments, social service agencies, and MPOs may also find the course of interest. NTI encourages participation from both transit and paratransit divisions within the same agency. Transit Performance Evaluation: Using Information-based Strategies (ID006) consisting of sixteen (16) hours of instruction over two (2) days per delivery with up to sixteen (16) deliveries within three (3) years of the contract signing and up to 10 deliveries over the option period, if exercised. This course will be offered to managers, service planners, senior maintenance/fleet management staff, senior marketing staff, and management information specialists. Planners with intermodal responsibilities in highway agencies and Metropolitan Planning Organizations will also find the course valuable. The contract will require a list of materials, course outline, instructor's guide, participant manual, and presentation of a pilot session. NTI will require proposers to have had experience with the subject matter as well as experience in developing and delivering training programs. To obtain a copy of the complete RFP, send a written request on organization letterhead to the University Procurement & Contracting address above. Fax or e-mail requests will be accepted; telephone requests are unacceptable. RFPs will not be faxed. Requests received by May 15, 2001 will be honored. Rutgers University is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to provide opportunities to small businesses, minority-owned businesses and/or female-owned businesses. These businesses are encouraged to submit proposals.
