Description

Construction of 0.23 miles of double lane bituminous paved road and 57 parking spaces. Primary work includes clearing and grubbing; 5,700 C.Y. of excavation; sediment control; temporary bridge and access; crushed aggregate; 560 tons of bituminous pavement; reinforced concrete pipe; riprap; seeding and mulching; and traffic markings. Construction of 95 ft. span, double lane vehicle bridge with concrete abutments, steel girders, concrete deck, and timber railing. Primary work includes structure excavation; quality control testing; 355 C.Y. structural concrete; reinforcing steel; 82,500 lbs. Structural steel; 333 ft. timber railing; and 42.5 C.Y. stone masonry. Construction of approx. 535 ft. of bituminous paved trail and 286 ft. of aggregate surfaced trail. Primary work includes clearing and grubbing; excavation; 110 tons of crushed aggregate; 50 tons of bituminous pavement; treated timber construction; dry laid rock steps; and seeding and mulching. Project is located on the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, Glenwood/Pedlar Ranger District, Nelson County, Virginia.
