- Description
- You are invited to be a part of history! On June 2nd, we will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Air Force Flight Test Center at the Edwards Air Force Base Dining Out. When the AFFTC was established here on June 25, 1951, Edwards AFB was already the recognized center of American flight research, test and development, with the first flight of the XP-59A here in October 1942 and Chuck Yeager's supersonic breakthrough in the X-1 in October 1947. From the F-86 to the F-22, the B-52 to the B-2, the C-124 to the C-17, and from the X-1 to the X-15 and the Space Shuttle, the AFFTC has played a pre-eminent role in forging the future of the U.S. Air Force and, indeed, the world of aerospace in general. For more than five decades, the AFFTC has been on the cutting edge of every major development that has transformed the field of flight the turbojet revolution, the supersonic and hypersonic breakthroughs, the space revolution, systems revolution and, more recently, the stealth revolution. This Dining Out is a much anticipated event which will commemorate the history of aviation and also build camaraderie with customs and traditions dating back more than 2000 years. So that you may share in this exciting event, Edwards AFB cordially invites you to attend and participate as a commercial sponsor. Sponsorship is an essential element for the continuation and success of programs such as this, and we are requesting your company's support. As a return on your investment, your will receive unprecedented recognition in the form of audio, print and visual media coverage. Sponsor exposure, with varying sponsorship levels, may include name/logo recognition, brochures, media coverage, feature articles, photo opportunities, posters, and will be prominently acknowledged throughout the event. All offers will be considered. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept offers for sponsorships from any contractor, including their affiliates (division, business groups, subsidiaries, etc.) subcontract arrangements, teaming partners and joint venture partners who are currently participating in, or who intend to participate in, any solicitation issued by the Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC), or will involve AFFTC requirements of $100,000 or more. If your company meets these criteria, we request that you do not submit a sponsorship offer thereby eliminating the need for rejection by the Government. More than one sponsor may be accepted and additives will be considered. Requests for copies of this solicitation must be received no later than May 25, 2001. This is a solicitation for commercial sponsorship by a nonappropriated fund instrumentality of the United States Government. It does not obligate appropriated funds of the government.
