- Description
- The USAF Academy Operational Contracting office is conducting this sources sought/request for information to identify the availability of sources to provide all the materials, equipment and labor necessary to provide and install a high-density, compact, movable electric storage system for installation within the USAF Academy Library, Special Collections Branch. l. The size of the collection and the quantity of items to store has exceeded existing floor capacity, making it necessary for us to find an alternate means of storage. 2. We have determined, after a careful study of all available methods, that a high-density electric movable storage system of the highest quality is the most cost effective means to accomplish this mission. The current storage capacity presently within the Special Collections Branch is approximately 5000 linear feet. We do expect that the installation of compact shelving to increase the present capacity by a factor of between two and three times the existing linear footage. 3. The electric moveable storage system should be of the highest quality and should incorporate the following features: -Case type 15_ deep shelving which will efficiently accommodate Hollinger boxes, with pass through capability for 30_ deep storage of larger items. -Automatic Aisle Locks -Photo safety Sweeps _ located on both sides of each mobile carriage, the safety sweeps will automatically stop carriage movement with 2 lbs. of pressure. -Movable carriages not to exceed 6000lbs each. 4. The potential contractor also would be required to provide labor for the handling and re-shelving of exiting book and archival collections and removing and or reassembling existing shelving. This Request for Information is being issued for the purpose of identifying A. potential contractors with the capability of delivering and bringing to full service the proposed items in accordance with the above description of the requirement, and; B. potential contractors who can provide a GSA quote. This requirement will be acquired by means of a Delivery Order issued to a GSA Schedule holder only. This Notice is not a Synopses, nor a Request for Proposal (RFP). Describe your current and past experience providing items which meet the proposed requirement. Please indicate your Active Registry with Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
