Description

This market survey questionnaire pertains to the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center's (TARDEC's) Ground Vehicle Simulation Laboratory (GVLS). GVLS has several large actuators (16 38 kip) which are used to setup four-post type tests for medium to large military vehicles. However, the GVLS is in need of one very large capacity simulation fixture to bear the weight and sufficiently excite the front half of a military semi-trailer. This simulation fixture must also be capable of bearing and reacting to the large dynamic side loads which are induced by the vertical excitation at the rear wheels (fifth wheel simulation fixture). In addition there is also a need for smaller actuators which are capable of achieving the response necessary to test lighter vehicles such as the HMMWV and COMBATT vehicles. These smaller actuators will include actuator systems complete with servo valves, accumulators, manifolds, base plates and swivels.
