** This Statement of Work (SOW) Supercedes the previously posted SOW dated 3 April 2001. ** There have been problems with attachments not opening. If you have difficulties opening attachments please contact one of the individulas listed as points of contact. ** The new date for proposal to be submitted is 2 May 2001. Statement of Work: This job is to effectively clean the internal side of all boiler tubes. The contractor shall submit a proposal detailing how they will accomplish the cleaning either mechanically, chemically or other method. The proposal shall contain sufficient detail to permit the government to evaluate their understanding of the requirement. The proposal shall also include a projected schedule for cleaning each boiler. 1. The contractor will supply all transportation, tools, and equipment and labor (confined space program). 2. Water and power are available. 3. The boiler steam drum screens should be removed for access to screen tubes and cleaned before reinstallation. Power plant personnel will make any repairs to screens. 4. All handhole gaskets and manhole gaskets will be replaced and supplied by the contractor. There are approximately 150 handholes. 5. The contractor will replace any gaskets supplied by the government. 6. All gaskets will be grafoil spiral wound. 7. Contractor will remove all waste material from boiler drums and headers. 8. Contractor will complete hydro test on boilers after gaskets and plugs are installed. 9. There are 6 ea. Boilers. 4 are Springfield and 2 are Garret Scahher. All are 120,000 lb. per hr. or similar design. Total water capacity of each boiler is approx. 8,000 gal. One boiler at a time will be cleaned and no more than 24 hours later the next boiler will be turned over to the contractor. (If possible two boilers maybe turned over to the contractor at the sole discretion of the government) 10. There are approximately 1600 tubes per boiler. Steam drum to mud drum: 192 ea. 3in. tubes 21ft. _ 26ft., 826 ea. 2in. tubes 21ft. _ 25ft. Ecomomizer: 528 ea. 2in. tubes 21ft. _ 24ft. Sidewall: 52 ea. 3in. tubes 35ft. to 40ft. Pier Tubes: 10 ea. 2in. tubes 6ft., 2 ea. 3_ tubes 6ft. 11. The majority of the scaled tubes are between the steam drum and the sidewall tubes. Scale consists of Ca, CO3, Fe2 O3 & Fe3 O4, Ca O, Mg SiO2, and Si O2. 12. Any scale on the inside of the drums and headers is to be removed.
