- Description
- The Smithsonian Institution is seeking proposals for the development and implementation of professional career training courses for Museum Security Officers and Supervisors for Smithsonian Institution's Office of Protection Services. The scope of work includes at a minimum: 1) develop and implement a Feedback Program to measure training needs; 2) develop and implement a museum security officer In-Service Training and Refresher Course; 3) develop and implement additional special emphasis training courses, such as "Supervisory Training", "Firearms Training", and Supervisory Communications Training", etc.; (4) develop measures to assess all training effectiveness. Offeror must be capable of providing skills including, but not limited to, the following: 1) granting certification in use of firearms; 2) meeting and maintaining mandatory legal requirements for U.S. Special Police Officers; and (3) granting academic credit or continuing education units for courses completed. Offerors shall be required to submit technical and price proposals. Offerors will be evaluated on their plan of accomplishment, experience of the firm and staff. It is anticipated that this work will be an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with services/work to begin on October 1, 2001 and end on September 30, 2002. Four one-year options are planned for the period beginning October 1, 2002 and ending on September 30, 2006.
