Description

The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to issue, under small business set-aside procedures, a Request for Proposal (RFP) to provide INMARSAT satellite phone services by International Maritime Satellite (INMARSAT) terminals. Services include Standards "B","C","M", Mini-M, Mini-M (AERO), M4, AERO-I, AERO-H, and AERO-H+ including High Speed Data (HSD) simplex/duplex usage service for "A"(to include modified A terminals to support HSD) and "B" terminals. In addition, secure STU III and STE capabilities, if applicable, are required for Standard "B" and "M", Mini-M, M4, and AERO terminals. Usage services provided shall be either on land or ship-to-ship, ship-to-shore, shore to ship, and air/ground/air on a global basis, including calls made to a foreign earth station. In addition maintenance of all types of equipment will be required. Service will be available to all DOD (Federal Agencies) and Non-DOD agencies (State, local and NATO). The RFP will be issued under the commercial acquisition procedures of FAR Part 12. Period of performance is a 36-month base period, with seven, one-year options. The Government reserves the right to make single or multiple awards as a result of proposals received in response to the RFP. Single or multiple awards will go to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offeror or offerors. Type of contract award will be indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ). The RFP will be posted on or about 21 May 2001 on the World Wide Web at http://www.ditco.disa.mil under "Contracting Opportunities" and "Other Telecommunication and Computer Technology" of the DITCO Homepage.
