Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Any referenced notes can be viewed at the following URL: http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/nasanote.html . Clarifications to Questions asked are as follows: 1) Is a new electronics cabinet for the new servo amplifiers and other electronic items being requested? Answer: The old electronics cabinet may be used if it meets intallation requirements, and the company is willing to remove the old electronics from the cabinet. However, I would expect most companies to supply the cabinet. 2) Could you please clarify off-line programming software ? What exactly is being requested brand, etc.? Answer: Off-line programming is the ability to program the manipulator in all functioning axes from a location other than the control pendant. The intent is to allow programming to be done in a remote location using a work station (Silicon Graphics, Intergraph) or PC, then download the program to the controller. No specific brand is requested. 3) How is the new LCD monitor to be mounted? Is there an existing pendant arm? Would you prefer a pedestal, free standing enclosure, etc.? Answer: The current monitor is on top of a roll-around cart. This would be adequate, or the supplier can install it on a free-standintg pedistal or cabinet with the operator interface. As stated above, the closing date is extended to CLOSE OF BUSINESS April 24, 2001. Any responses received after this date WILL NOT be considered.
