- Description
- This requirement is in support of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA for the upgrade of Harnischfeger Corporation crane number 10592 (PSNS #103117). The crane's lifting capacity shall be increased from 40 tons main/5 tons aux. To 40 tons (80,000 lbs) main/10 tons (20,000 lbs) aux. A complete modernization of the crane shall be performed. The entire crane, after capacity increase and modernization shall be capable of another standard 30 year "life-span". The upgraded crane shall meet all current OSHA, ASME and CMAA standards. The crane shall also be upgraded for outside operations. The specification requires the following work steps: (a) Removal of the crane from the runway rail and the Shipyard; (b) Remove existing runway conductors and replace with new enclosed runway conductor; (c) Inspection of reused crane components and structural welds. Repair of all deficiencies bringing the crane up to current standards; (d) Design Submittal -- Work Package, List of Materials, Drawings, Calculations, Catalog Cuts, and Test Procedure; (e) Production Work -- Fabrication, delivery, erection, installation, testing and final documentation. Crane upgrade to be completed on or before 31 Sep 2002. This requirement will be procured under commercial, simplified acquisition procedures utilizing best value evaluation of offers. This procurement is a full and open competitive, unrestricted requirement. After downloading the solicitation, firms interested in submitting quotes must: (1) complete the pricing, (2) complete all representations and certifications found in the solicitation, (3) manufacturer information of proposed items and (4) ensure current registration in the DoD Central Contractor Registration database (http://www.ccr.2000.com/). This is a web-based solicitation. No hard-copy solicitation/amendment documents will be distributed by the Government. The Government will not mail or fax the solicitation or any amendments thereto. Subsequent amendments to the solicitation, if any, will be promulgated ONLY via the NECO website. Prospective quoters are responsible for checking the referenced web page early and periodically for any solicitation amendments. Interested parties should not expect notification that an amendment has been issued. The Government web site is occasionally inaccessible due to maintenance.
