- Description
- There will be a nominal fee of $15.00 to cover the cost of the plans and specifications, and mailing. All requests for this solicitation package should include a check in the amount of $15.00 made out to the Dept. of Interior, National Park Service. There will only be one official site visit at the project location. The site visit will be on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at the Crane Flat Yosemite Institute Campus on Tioga Pass Road near State Highway 120 Junction. For further information concerning the site visit, please contact Kelly White at (209) 379-1263. The estimated price range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The expected construction start date is August, 2001. Brief project description: This project involves the upgrade of a wastewater treatment system for a showerhouse at an Environmental Education Camp located at Crane Flat in Yosemite National Park. A textile media filter wastewater treatment system designed for flow rates of 1500 gallons per day and wastewater strengths of 400 milligrams per liter shall be installed, an existing 4000 gallon septic tank shall be retrofitted into a recirculation tank, control panels installed, and nearby water and power lines upgraded. The textile media filter shall consist of three Advan Tex 20 units as manufactured by Orenco Systems, Inc., or Equal. The major salient characteristics are as follows: 1) The textile media filters shall be fixed film textile media filters with media loading rates of up to 45 gallons per day per square foot; 2)Low maintenance; 3)Low energy consumption; 4) Pre-manufactured, ready to install; 5) Quiet; 6) Odor-free operation; 7) The system shall have been successfully permitted for wastewater treatment in the state of California; 8) The system shall run off of generator power; 9) The system shall have significant test and performance data demonstrating high BOD and TSS removal.
