- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure, on an other than full and open competition basis, an increase to the total estimated cost, total estimated labor hours, and a one-year period of performance extension of contract N68939-96-D-0008 with Science Application International Corporation (SAIC), Ridgecrest, California for Business and Administrative Support Services (BASS). The period of performance of the extension will commence from 1 October 2001 through 30 September 2002. The extension is estimated at approximately 238,000 hours. This sole-source acquisition is in accordance with the exceptions to full and open competition outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) part 6.302-1. The contract extension is for continuation of services necessary to provide software systems development support; business process analysis and reengineering; information handling support; project planning, documentation and specification support; operations and maintenance of business and administrative information technology systems and computing centers, personal computing resource management and user support. This action will be negotiated on a sole source basis to SAIC because SAIC has the required specialized technical expertise, facilities, and management structure in place to continue the support required by the government without adverse impact to schedule, cost, and mission. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Written responses must provide clear and concise documentation indicating why it is more advantageous to the Government to consider other than the contemplated action. Verbal responses are not acceptable. Responses shall be submitted in writing to Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Code 210000D, Attn: Derrick Hu, China Lake, CA 93555-6100. Questions may be addressed to Derrick Hu, (760) 499-5982. Note 22 applies
