Description

The contractor will furnish and install lightning protection system. The system shall be installed by a firm actively engaged in the installation of Master Labeled Lightning Protection Systems and shall be so listed by Underwriters_ Laboratories Inc. The completed system shall comply with the latest editions of the _Installation Requirements for Lightning Protection Systems, UL96A_ and the National Fire Protection Association_s _Lightning Protection Code_, NFPA No. 780. All materials shall generally be of copper and/or copper-bronze. In locations where the system components are mounted on aluminum surfaces, aluminum materials shall be used to avoid electrolytic corrosion of the dissimilar metals. Size materials in accordance with the material requirements of NFPA 780 and UL96A. Use Class II materials for systems on structures exceeding 75 feet above grade. This work is to be performed at the Harold Washington Social Security Center, 600 W. Madison Street, Chicago, Illinois. This procurement is a Total Small Business Set Aside. The NAICS Code for this procurement is: 235310, size 11.5 million. The price range for this procurement is: $25,000 to $100,000.
