Description

Requirement for award of a firm-fixed-price contract to provide and install prefabricated CONSPAN bridge structure in concert with troop construction of a road at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. This project may include providing the prefabricated structure, preparation for installation and installing the structure. It may also include maximum participation by soldiers in the technical aspects of construction. The Government troop project activity will provide 6-8 soldiers as unskilled labor to participate in construction of footers and foundation work. Also, the Contractor will allow observation of construction by groups of soldiers. Preparation of the site for the bridge structure is to be scheduled from 20 Jun 01 through 27 Jun 01 to allow maximum troop participation. Installation of the bridge structure is to take place 23 Jul 01 or later if necessary. Project magnitude is between $100,000 and $250,000. A 20% bid bond is required. Payment and performance bonds will be required after award. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 234120 with a small business size standard of $27.5 million. Competition is set aside for small business. Request for the IFB must be in writing accompanied by a non-refundable certified check, cashier's check or money order payable to the US Treasury in the amount of $8.00 per package. No company, personal, registered checks, or cash accepted. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered.
