Description
(1) Facilities Improvement & Repair and new construction. (2) The Base Bid consists of New Construction of a 1,984 SF classroom building, a 1,840 SF cafeteria building and renovation of an existing 4,400 SF classroom building to include stucco, window replacement, HVAC, electrical and special systems replacement. Relocation of Portable Classroom Bldg. No. 708 including installation of water, sewer, natural gas and electrical service, building support pads, ramps, steps and connecting sidewalks and removal of existing building support pads and abandonment of existing utility services. Classroom Building 701, Rooms 100,105, 109 and 113, sandblast roof support beams and wood roof deck, stain and varnish finish on ceiling. Rooms 109 and 113 requires painting support beams and wood deck. Site improvements to include asbestos abatement, demolition of buildings, grading, the replacement of the underground utilities, parking lots and sidewalks. (3) Deductive Alternate No. 1 consists of deleting the requirement to relocate Portable Classroom Bldg. No. 708 including installation of water, sewer, natural gas and electrical service, building support pads, ramps, steps and connecting sidewalks. Requirements for removal of existing building support pads and abandonment of existing utility services remain as part of the Base Bid. (4) Deductive Alternate No. 2 consists of deleting the requirement to sandblast roof support beams and wood roof deck, stain and varnish finish on ceiling for Classroom Building 701, Rooms 100,105, 109 and 113. Painting support beams and wood deck in Rooms 109 and 113 remain a part of Base Bid. (5) The site is located on the San Ildefonso Pueblo, Santa Fe County, New Mexico, approximately eighty-five (85) miles North of Albuquerque, New Mexico or approximately twenty-five (25) miles North of Santa Fe, New Mexico. (6) The Construction Price Range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. (7) Award of any contract resulting from this solicitation shall be subject to Section (7)(b) of Pub. L. 93-638 (25 U.S.C. 450(e)) and 41 C.F.R. 1452.226-71 which require that preference in subcontracting be given to Indian/Alaska Native firms. Consistent with these authorities, bidders shall advertise and solicit subcontractors and suppliers from the Tribe(s) on or near the reservation(s) for which the contract will be performed. Potential awardee shall be required to submit its plan to implement Section (7)(b) when requested by the Contracting Officer. Failure by the bidder to submit its plan when required and implement same after award shall be sufficient reason for non-award of a contract or termination of award for default. (8) Important Notice. In order to avoid any delay(s) after the bid opening, all required documents must be submitted with the bid or within specific time limits, as identified on the Solicitation, Offer and Award, SF 1442. (9) This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. (10) The performance period for this procurement is 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. (11) The Bid Opening will be May 30, 2001 at 2:00 p.m., Albuquerque, NM. (12) Bid documents will be available after April 26, 2001, at a non-refundable cost of $100.00 per set, and payable in advance to the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
