Solicitation Notice: Project #300018, New construction of the Great Falls Readiness Center The work consists of furnishing and performing all supervision, plant, labor, equipment, materials, testing, and incidentals in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. The facility will be constructed on Montana Army National Guard property located on the perimeter of Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Montana. This is federal property and requires compliance with all environmental, industrial hygiene, and occupational safety regulations and laws. The work consists of a new single story Readiness Center of approximately 31,489 square feet, a controlled waste building of approximately 167 square feet, a manufactured, unheated storage building of approximately 2,000 square feet, and all associated site development. The work includes concrete, masonry walls, structural steel, steel joists, metal roof deck, architectural woodwork, single-ply roofing system, roof accessories, hollow metal and wood doors and frames, aluminum entrances, aluminum windows, hardware, glazing, interior finishes and furnishings including loading dock equipment, kitchen equipment, plumbing, fire protection, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, electrical systems, lighting, and communications. Site work will include cut and fill, imported fill, engineered fill, water services, sewer services, electrical services, site drainage, fire protection, concrete, asphalt paving and parking, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and landscaping and irrigation. The estimated magnitude of the proposed construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 with a completion period of 365 days. The North American Industry Classification System code is 23332 with a size standard of $17.0 million. Bid Documents are anticipated to be available on or about May 16, 2001. A tentative deadline for the receipt of bids is July 17, 2001. This project will be solicited electronically using the electronic bid solicitation system (EBS). The only way to receive bid documents is to register on the USPFO for Montana web-site, http://www.montanaguard.com/USPFO_Home.htm. Once registered, prospective bidders will be sent a CD-ROM with the solicitation and plans and specifications on it. All requests must indicate business size and minority status. By using the EBS system there will be no charge for the CD-ROM. After release of solicitation, you can review a paper copy of the bid documents in the Contracting Officer's office. Telephone, fax, or written requests for bid packages or solicitation mailing lists will not be accepted. The solicitation mailing list will be available on the USPFO web site. A firm fixed-price contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as a result of this solicitation. This solicitation is advertised on an unrestricted basis.
