- Description
- 1. NOTICE TYPE: This is a potential technology development and licensing opportunity with Bechtel Nevada, the prime operating contractor for the Department of Energy at the Nevada Test Site (NTS). Bechtel Nevada is soliciting written expressions of interest from industry partners to fund collaborative technology development and/or entering into license agreements for developing and commercializing this technology. License terms will include an up-front licensing fee and a running royalty based on a percentage of sales. This is not an opportunity to provide goods or services to Bechtel Nevada or the Department of Energy nor is it a commitment to continue research or license this technology. This solicitation will close to responses 45 days after publication. Interest parties should send a description of their company and their ability to commercialize this technology to the following POC: John R. Elliott, Sr Operations Specialist, Bechtel Nevada, 2621 Losee Road, M/S NLV038, North Las Vegas, NV 89030. Phone: (702) 295-0256. E-Mail should be addressed to elliotjr@doe.nv.gov. A descrption of the technology follows. 2. ABSTRACT: Bechtel Nevada has a patent pending for a series of transmission line transformers (STLT) wound on a common magnetic core. They function as bi-directional impedence matching circuit elements with lower losses and higher bandwidth than previously achieved. The STLT is also scalable over a wide range of applications from microcuitry to discrete high-power applications. Possible applications include piezo transducers, e-o modulators, FET drivers (capacitive loads), and write heads (inductive loads) with performance up to 10 GHz bandwidth and viable impedance ratios up to about 1000. 3. OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY: NTS is seeking industry partners with the capability of taking protype devices to mass-produced products and marketing them to end-users. Potential licensees may propose either exclusive or non-exclusive license arrangements with each proposal being considered by Bechtel Nevada on its own merits.
