- Description
- This proposed procurement is unrestricted, SIC 1741, NAICS 23541 $7.0 million. Estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. This proposed project is a general construction effort that consists of primarily civil/horizontal construction work with design, design review and construction related to the repair of exterior masonry wall at four sites and repair of exterior masonry wall and other site construction at two sites. The six schools are: Bruce-Monroe Elementary, 3012 Georgia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20001-3894; CW Harris Elementary, 301 53rd Street, SE, Washington, DC 20001-6373; Evans Junior High 5600 East Capitol Street, SE, Washington, DC 20019; Hyde Elementary, 3219 O Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007-2843; Paul Junior High, 5800 18th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20011-1900; and Takoma Elementary, 7010 Piney Branch Road, NW, Washington, DC 20012. Work consists of work repairs to retaining wall, repairs to some other site construction elements will be executed as specified in each individual specification chapter. As stated in each individual specification, the masonry walls are defined as including but not limited to retaining walls, freestanding walls, parapets, curbs, stairs, foundations and tie-back structures, finished grade and adjacent paving structures. Other site elements may include paving, utilities work in affected areas, vegetation control, reseeding/sod laying, and fencing & gate work. The specification calls for design (ONLY) of repairs to existing storm water drainage or new drainage systems and some site elements. Upon presentation and approval of these designs, their execution may be added to the contract resulting contract by modification. "It is recommended that District of Columbia small and disadvantaged business firms obtain a Local Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Certification from the Government of the District of Columbia. If small and disadvantaged businesses currently possess the certification, provide a copy along with all other pertinent information at the time of receipt of Invitation for Bid (IFB). Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996, effective March 31, 1998 all contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be considered for award of a Federal contract.
