Description

This project consists of removing eight existing corrugated metal pipes, and installing larger fish passage pipes in their place. Seven of these pipes are 1500mm and 1800mm round pipes, one pipe is a 2200mm span x 1600mm rise pipe arch. These pipes are located along the US Highway 26 corridor on the Big Summit Ranger District of the Ochoco National Forest. Work consists of removing the existing undersized culverts and replacing them with specified corrugated metal pipes. Contractor shall furnish the pipe as per contract requirements. It is the contractor's responsibility to remove the old pipe from National Forest land. Work also includes machine and hand-placed riprap aggregate surfacing and pitrun to replace the material that will be unsuitable to use as embankment. The Forest Service will do the construction staking and control points. The Contractor is responsible for all required permits, unless otherwise noted in the contract. Work is anticipated to take place between July 15, 2001 and September 27, 2001. The price range is between $125,000 and $225,000. Bonding is required. This project is set aside 100% for HUBZone Contractors. Solicitation will be issued on April 24, 2001, and is a Request for Proposal. See Numbered Note 27.
