Description
The U.S. Agency for International Development to Honduras is seeking for a qualified U.S. citizen/resident to act as Senior Education Advisor, under a long-term non-personal services contract, to provide the technical assistance to the Government of Honduras' Ministry of Education (MOE), the Advisory Council for Human Resources Development (CADERH), the CADERH network of vocational centers, the National Institute for Professional Development (INFOP), the Fundaci n para la Educaci n Ricardo Ernesto Maduro Andreu (FEREMA), and other governmental and/or non-governmental education partners and stakeholders. This technical assistance will support implementation of: (a) the Basic Education and Skills Training (BEST) Project; (b) education reform activities; and (c) activities to reduce repetition and dropout in the early grades of primary school. Applicants Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of and at least ten years experience in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating basic education, vocational education, and interactive radio instruction programs in developing countries as well as broad-based knowledge of education policy reform issues, especially in Latin America and preferably Honduras. Fluency in Spanish required at the Foreign Service Institute, Level of S3/R3. Ph.D or Ed.D in education, educational policy and planning, curriculum development, educational administration, educational economics, educational anthropology, vocational education, international education, or related social sciences field. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with multiple parties, including counterparts, PVO/NGO representatives, donors, and implementing partners. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multinational and multidisciplinary team. Excellent writing ability in English, excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, and management experience. Type of contract: cost-reimbursement no fee; duration: Two years with two additional option years.
