Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst (NAWCADLKE) intends to enter into sole source negotiations with Rene Corporation Van Nuys, CA for the acquisition of twenty-four (24) Optical Micrometers P/N 8400K. Required delivery date is 18 July 2001. The item is a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) item used in Organizational Level Maintenance for the V-22. The Optical Micrometer measures transparent material for thickness, depth of crazing, depth of fractures and depth and thickness of imbedded bubbles and seeds. The unit will magnify 200X, is compact and has a portable battery. The proposed acquisition is for an item that the Government does not own specification or drawings. The technical data and drawings for the Optical Micrometer are proprietary to Rene Corporation. NAWCADLKE intends to procure this item under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (C) (1) as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. SEE NUMBERED Notes 22
