- Description
- A 30-month incrementally funded System Definition and Risk Reduction effort to design, develop, demonstrate, and validate simulations; and identify critical technologies in support of the Common Missile System Program Concept and Technology Development Phase. This simulation-based acquisition marks the initiation of a program centered on the Simulation and Modeling for Acquisition, Requirements and Training (SMART) Concept. This requirement is restricted to the following sources: Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Boeing-Northrup Grumman and BAE Systems. These sources can execute a missile production contract and are the only ones that have demonstrated through past missile production efforts the ability to engineer, design, develop, test and produce quality, reliable missile systems. Evaluation of Request For Proposals (RFP) responses will result in possible award of up to four (4) contracts. RFP issue date will be on/around 19 APR 2001 with proposals due on/around 22 MAY 2001. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. See Note 22.
