Description

The United States Air Force is requesting proposals for the furnishing of all plant, transportation, material, labor, equipment, and supervision necessary to provide removal and replacement of five (5) exhaust silencer and extension assemblies used to support 1.5 Mega-Watt General Electric diesel generators. The majority of the work will fall within civil and mechanical disciplines, to include but not limited to steel demolition, steel structure erection, welding, pipefitting, and associated civil, electrical, and mechanical work. The magnitude of this project is between $50,000 and $100,000. The period of performance for this project will be 90 calendar days. The solicitation for this project will ONLY be available at Internet address: http://www.herbb.hanscom.af.mil Pictures of the current generator stacks are available on the HERBB website. These items will not be mailed, and telephone requests will not be honored. All interested parties MUST be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database in order to receive a solicitation or award. Applications for CCR registration may be obtained or completed at the Internet address: http://www.ccr2000.com Tentatively, the RFQ will be released on or about 2 Apr 01. Quotations can be mailed to: ESC/PKOC, Attn: LEONARDO LAYON, 20 Schilling Circle,Bldg 1305, 3rd FL, Hanscom AFB, MA 01731-2800. Quotations sent via Federal Express, UPS, or hand-carried, etc., shall be mailed to the same address. Award will be made on or about 18 May 2001. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after receipt of quotations, with no obligation to the offeror by the Government. FUNDS are currently not available for this requirement. Offerors are advised that the cost of any response is at the offeror's own risk. Unless funds are made available for this requirement, no contract will be awarded. An Acquisition Ombudsman, Colonel Joseph B. Magnone, Director, Commander's Staff, has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during proposal development. You should only contact the Ombudsman with issues or problems you cannot satisfactorily resolve with the program manager and/or contracting officer. The Ombudsman role is to hear concerns, issues, and recommendations and communicate these to the appropriate government personnel. The Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality if desired.
