Description
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport is soliciting proposals on a Firm Fixed Price basis for All Up Round Volumetric Shapes (AURVS) with Mk34 Shipping Skids and AURVS Domes. The AURVS is a testing and training device loaded into a 688 class submarine's vertical launch system missile tube that simulates the Capsule Launching System (CLS) allowing the vertical launch system to be exercised through the launch phase without actually launching a missile. The AURVS is 26.61" in diameter (at the upper flange), has an overall length of 280.4 inches and weighs approximately 6800 pounds. The Mk34 Shipping Skids are the containers used to transport and store the AURVS. The skid is an aluminum framework skid base with two lightweight polyethylene covers that are secured to the skid with quick release pin and has an overall length of 306". Basic quantity requirements are up to 31 AURVS with Mk34 Shipping Skids and 2 AURVS Domes. Four options will be included; Option I up to 9 AURVS with Mk34 Shipping Skids; Option 2 up to 29 AURVS with Mk34 Shipping Skids; Option 3 up to 33 AURVS with Mk34 Shipping Skids and Option 4 up to 17 AURVS with Mk34 Shipping Skids. The AURVS, Mk34 Shipping Skids and AURVS Domes shall be manufactured and assembled in accordance with Government furnished statement of work, performance specification and drawings. Inspection and Acceptance will be at source with final delivery FOB Destination. The government considers a reasonable delivery schedule to be 2 units 360 days after award with the remaining units to be delivered at a rate of 2 per month or better. 13 units must be delivered by 1 May 2003. A liquidated damages clause will be included in the contract. Contractors must maintain a quality assurance program in accordance with ISO-9002. Acquisition will be processed as a HUBZone Set-Aside; standard industrial code is 332510. Award will be made on a best value basis. Evaluation factors are Technical Capability, Past Performance and Price. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form.
