Description
A Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) for Cluster 1 of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), managed by PM Tactical Radio Communications System (TRCS), will be released 30 March 2001. The Draft RFP will include information necessary to formulate a business strategy pertaining to the anticipated JTRS Cluster 1 development. One contract will be awarded for a prime systems integrator who will be responsible for developing and/or acquiring numerous, SCA compliant waveforms, defining common form-fit-and-function configurations for vehicular and aviation versions of the JTRS hardware, and successfully porting the waveforms to JTRS hardware produced by two different developers of its choosing. The prime systems integrator will be excluded as a source for development of Cluster 1 JTRS radio sets. Additional information regarding the selection criteria and the weight of each selection factor will be found in the Draft RFP. The Draft RFP will be posted on the IBOP (https://abop.monmouth.army.mil) under DAAB07-01-R-C602 on 30 March 2001. A JTRS Draft RFP Industry Informational Briefing Forum, hosted by PM Tactical Radio Communications System (TRCS), will be held at Fort Monmouth, NJ, on Wednesday April 4, 2001, 8:30 AM -- 3:00 PM, at the Myer Center Auditorium. The meeting should start at 0900 with registration from 0830 to 0900. The purpose of this forum is to present an informational briefing of the Draft JTRS RFP. It is anticipated that pertinent industry feedback will be incorporated in the JTRS Final RFP, scheduled for release in July 2001. This event is sponsored by PM TRCS and is open to appropriate Government and industry personnel. The forum will consist of morning and afternoon sessions. The session will consist of a Government briefing and question and answer period. In order to maximize efficient use of forum time participants may submit questions in advance to Richard.Snyder@c3smail.monmouth.army.mil. To promote an open exchange of ideas and concerns, anonymity of question submitters will be maintained, if requested. Due to the short time between the release of the RFP and the forum presentation, questions will be accepted the day of the forum. Pre- Registration for Industry Day is required . Please register on-line at https://peoc3s-res.monmouth.army.mil/JTRSINDUSTRYDAY. A link to this page is also available at the JTRS Public website. One-on-One discussions with Industry will be scheduled for May 21, 2001 through June 8, 2001. Each session will be limited to two hours. The purpose of the One-on-One sessions is limited to Industry feedback on Government questions posed during Industry Day.
