Description

Scope of Work is to mill the existing asphalt pavement shoulders of Taxiway B at Homestead Air Reserve Station, Miami-Dade County, Homestead, Florida. The base is located approximately thirty miles south of Miami, FL. The project consists of but is not limited to milling the existing asphalt pavement shoulders of Taxiway B, preparing the milled surface for an asphalt overlay, and applying the asphalt overlay to both sides of the Taxiway B shoulders. Following final rolling and compaction of the new asphalt surface, taxiway edge markings shall be painted onto the new asphalt surfaces. The paint shall be applied as noted in the drawings and specifications to include reflective glass beads in the applied paint. Work must be coordinated with the Airfield Manager to minimize impact to flying operations. This acquisition is for a Firm-Fixed-Price contract. The SIC is 1611. Magnitude of construction is estimated to be between $100K and $500K. Project performance period is 90 calendar days. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or about 30 Apr 01. Dates are for estimating purposes only, and may be revised as indicated in the Request for Proposal (RFP). This solicitation is unrestricted and is open to large, small, small disadvantaged, and woman owned business concerns. Proposals will be evaluated pursuant to FAR 15.101-1, Tradeoff Process. Past Performance is more important than price for this solicitation. All requests for the solicitation package must be made in writing. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
