Description

This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for commercial items to provide all labor, equipment, materials, and transportation necessary to perform Refuse Collection, Recycling, and Disposal Services for Los Angeles Air Force Base Areas A, B, Lawndale Annex in El Segundo, CA, and at three (3) military family housing areas with a total of 574 units located in San Pedro, CA, 20 miles south of Los Angeles Air Force Base. Refuse in the approximate total quantity of 2400 tons annually shall be removed from containers in sizes ranging from two (2) cubic yard containers to 40 cubic yard containers which are to be supplied by the contractor. The government will supply the necessary residential type refuse containers. The duration of the contract period will be for a base year and four (4) option years. Estimated date of contract award is on or about 15 June 2001. The contract will include provisions for wages and fringe benefits in accordance with the Department of Labor Wage Determination No. 94-2047. The Government reserves the right to offer this acquisition to the 8(a) program, should acceptable 8(a) firms demonstrate an interest for this requirement. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government shall determine the feasibility to set-aside or offer to 8(a). A second synopsis will be issued once the decision is made. Interested large and small businesses should respond by providing the Contracting Office listed below with a statement of capabilities to perform NAICS, Transportation, Communication, and Utilities Code 562219 -- Other Nonhazardous Waste Treatment and Disposal (SIC Code 4953, Refuse Systems). Such responses are requested as early as possible, but not later than 15 calendar days from the date of this notice. Replies are requested from all interested qualified businesses. A Solicitation will be distributed on or about 30 April 2001. Estimated date of contract award is on or about 30 June 2001.
