- Description
- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT synopsis. This sources sought synopsis requests information needed by the Government prior to release of any potential solicitation. Details follow-please read this entire synopsis. This is NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The Department of Defense, Program Management Office for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (PMS-EOD) is seeking sources capable of producing up to 26 Mini-Fly Away Dive Lockers (Mini-FADLs). They are to be built in accordance with a drawing package to be provided as Government Furnished Information (GFI) to interested bidders upon the future release of a formal Request for Proposals (RFP). The Mini-FADL is a modified ISO shelter (approximate dimensions 10 feet x 8 feet x 8 feet) which will be used to transport and store standard US Navy diving equipment when EOD Forces are deployed and to provide an O2 safe workspace to perform routine maintenance of the dive equipment. The GFI will reflect the configuration of an existing prototype design. The Mini-FADLs shall be transportable by standard Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial carriers, to include ground transport vehicles, ships and aircraft. Issuance of a formal RFP is anticipated in June 2001. A firm fixed price supply type contract is contemplated to include a base quantity of four units with option provisions for an additional 22 Mini-FADLs. The maximum total quantity anticipated for this procurement is 26 Mini-FADLs. This announcement serves to facilitate development of the RFP, and is NOT a formal solicitation and is NOT a request for proposals. Availability of the formal solicitation will be announced separately. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes ONLY, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332312.
