Description

17. Furnish and install Lathe, CNC horizontal-spindle 4-1/2" bar capacity, 12 station turret with rotary tolling, programmable high/low chucking pressure, 3 rotary tool holders. The contractor is to perform all work in strict accordance with the specifications. The contractor shall be responsible for providing all services, labor, parts, and materials required for a "turnkey" installation of the lathe. The lathe shall be new and one of the manufacturer's current models capable of operation in accordance with the requirements herein. This specification provides the minimum requirements for a computer numerically controlled (CNC), horizontal-spindle lathe. The lathe shall be constructed from materials with sufficient mass and strength components while minimizing elements deflections and vibration during operation. The rotational axle of the workpiece shall be horizontal. The longitudinal axes of machineways supporting the carriage, tailstock, steady rests, or tool rests shall be parallel to the rotational axis of the workpiece. All parts subject to wear, breakage, or distortion shall be accessible for adjustment, replacement, and repair. Access doors or removeable panels shall be provided for servicing all components located within the lathe. This is an unrestricted procurement. North American Industrial Classification System is 333512. Size standard is 500 employees. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102 (a) (7) and 14.205-1 (c), therefore hardcopies will not be provided.
