- This is the updated statement of work. STATEMENT OF WORK PLACE: BUILDING 519, Civil Engineers Readiness Facility. DATE: 20 Dec 00/22 Mar01 W/0 #: 77845, Renovate men and women's restrooms. P.O.C.: Mr. Joseph M. Kovach, EXT. 394-4792 1. SCOPE: The work covered by provisions of the contract consist of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and transportation necessary to renovate men and women's bathrooms. A. DEMOLITION: (men and women's restrooms) 1. Demolish furred out concrete block wall approximately -- 8'-0" x 8'-0", between men's restroom and locker room. Remove complete suspended ceiling system in men's restroom; do not disturb ductwork or the sheetrock that surrounds it. Reroute electric and plumbing lines as directed in the construction phase or as necessary, see drawing. 2. Cut out 2'-8" x 6'-8" opening between laundry room and ladies room -- wall is concrete block furred out with sheetrock, reroute all electric and plumbing lines over doorway as directed in the construction phase or as necessary, see drawing. 3. Ladies room; remove water closet, vanity with lavatory, complete suspended ceiling system 4. Remove water closet, urinal, and vanity with lavatory in men's room 5. Trench, concrete floor from location of new corner shower unit to existing drain by women's water closet, also trench for new 1 12" washer drain which will tie into 1 12" shower drain, see drawing. 6. Remove exterior doors and frames in men and women's restrooms 7. Remove ceiling tiles in laundry room. 8. Cap ice maker water line and electrical outlet, see drawing B. CONSTRUCTION (Renovation of men and women's restrooms) 1. Women's restroom: Install a new 40 gallon water heater with 3800/5500 input watts and 18/20-inches in diameter elevated 2/3" above floor between doorway and dryer PVC air vent , utilize existing Hook-ups, extend as necessary. Frame in PVC dryer vent 4-feet high and 10-inches deep and sheetrock. 2. Laundry room: Plum drain and install corner shower unit -- I.E Capelli neo angle shower by Carolina Classic or suitable substitute, per manufactures specifications, to include all fixtures, tie into hot water heater and cold water above ceiling. 3. Laundry room: Plum 1 12"drain for new washer location, see drawing, extend existing washer cold and hot water lines to new washer box and relocate existing washer and dryer circuits to new washer/dryer location behind washer/dryer per NEC. 4. Replace 2' x 2' Suspended ceiling tiles in laundry room with a fine fissured 2' x 2' wet area tile. I.E. Ceramiguard by Armstrong, light fixtures to remain in place. 5. Concrete/finish drain line, prep surfaces as required and overlay existing floor tiles with new 12" x 12" floor tiles and baseboard in laundry room, men and women's restrooms. 6. Install/connect a new standard water closet with lid, a 30-inch high x 24-inch wide x 18-inch deep vanity to include a lavatory with faucets and a 24-inch x 36-inch frameless mirror in women's restroom. Utilize existing drains and water lines. 7. Women's restroom: Install complete new suspended ceiling grid system with 2' x 2' fissured ceiling tiles and two each 2' x 2' -- two tube florescent drop in light fixtures spaced in the center of room. Install light switch on wall by water heater, see drawing. Exhaust fan to be controlled by light switch 8. Frame in and trim out a 2'-8" x 6'-8" opening in furred out concrete block wall to serve as a walkway between laundry room and women's room. 9. Frame new 2" x 4" wall between men's restroom and locker room -- approximately -- 8'-0" x 8'-0", cover both sides with 12" sheetrock, and install a 3'-0 x 6'-8" door with key lock per drawing. Tie 2" x 4" wall frame into ceiling joists, Make necessary repairs to suspended ceiling on locker room side -- wall angle and tees, cut and replace ceiling tiles. Shift one 2' x 4' light fixture 24" into locker room so it will not interfere with new wall's construction. Relocate existing motion sensor light switch in men's restroom to new entrance door, see drawing. Note: exhaust fan to be controlled by light switch 10. Frame in, sheetrock and trim exposed ductwork where concrete block wall was removed from men's and women's room as necessary also repair intersecting walls where block opening created in men's room. 11. Install new standard water closet with lid and standard urinal in men's restroom, utilize existing drain and water lines 12. Install/connect new 30-inch high x 24-inch wide x 18-inch deep vanity to include a lavatory with faucets and a 24-inch x 36-inch frameless mirror in the men's room, tie into existing drain previously used by washing machine on opposite wall. Reroute and connect to previous hot and cold water lines. Relocate men's restroom receptacle circuit, see drawing, over vanity, beside mirror, use GFI receptacle. 13. Install alcove partition with standard door for men's water closet and install standard urinal divider between lavatory and urinal, see drawing. 14. Install complete new suspended ceiling grid system with 2' x 2' fissured ceiling tiles and three 2' x 2' -- two tube florescent drop in light fixtures spaced in center of men's restroom. 15. Extend duct outlet approximately 16" through new men's room wall into locker room, see drawing 16. Block-up exterior door openings in men and women's restrooms, run electrical circuits and install an 8-inch exhaust fan, 180 cfm, in openings to be blocked-up, one in each restroom. Fans to be controlled by men and women's light switches. Fur out and match existing exterior siding and sheetrock interior Prepare men's and women's restroom floors for 4-inch skim coat of concrete. Remove sheetrock and furring that will be below grade level with the laundry and locker rooms. Grade level to be determined when wall/doorway are removed per demolition items numbers one and two. Pour concrete in men's and women's room and finish at new grade level. 17. Paint laundry room, men and women's restrooms: Prep all surfaces as necessary, spackle and tape all new sheetrock, prime coat all new wood and sheetrock then paint per existing color scheme with two finish coats. 18. Install a reversible restroom "Men" and "Women" door sign on each restroom door so it can be changed as requirements necessitate, sign size approximate 3" x 9" 19. Install sign "low clearance" on air conditioning duct, one on each side of duct in both restrooms. Signs approximately 10" x 17", yellow background with black lettering. 20. Cap three electrical outlets above suspended ceiling in laundry room, per print. C. WORK WEEK: The contractor work hours shall be, 0715-1615, Monday-Friday D. WORKMANSHIP: All workmanship will comply with standard trade practices. The contractor shall provide all qualified personnel, equipment, and services. E. SITE CLEAN-UP: The contractor is responsible to return all work sites to a clean and orderly fashion. F. TIME OF PERFORMANCE: The contractor shall have 30 days to complete the work. G. WARRANTYS: The contractor will guarantee all workmanship for a period of one year from completion of work. The contractor is responsible for any damages caused to government facilities. H. COORDINATE: Contractor to coordinate with Captain Goodbody Readiness Flight Chief @ 394-8139 at least five working days prior to start of work so Readiness can make arrangements to conduct some of their classes at an alternate location. Contractor to also coordinate with contract construction inspector five working days prior to start of work so inspector can make arrangements with utilities shop's service contract to place two portalets at Facility 519.
