NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for ANNUAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL FOR PRODUCT CODES: ML49X, QS1A, 340N5, Q512A, 410N5, 610N5, 630N1, CATX. THIS SERVICE IS USED TO EASILY LOCATE, VIEW, AND PRINT NOT ONLY U.S. MILITARY SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS, BUT ALSO INDUSTRY STANDARDS, COMMERCIAL STANDARDS, INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) DOD ADOPTED INDUSTRY STANDARDS. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE SHALL BE 1 YEAR FROM DATE OF ORDER. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from INFORMATION HANDLING SERVICES, ENGLEWOOD, CO 80155-6720, AS THE ONLY KNOWN SOURCE WHO CAN MEET AGENCY REQUIREMENTS. IHS IS THE ONLY SUPPLIER OF COMPREHENSIVE AND CURRENT INFORMATION PRODUCTS AVAILABLE FOR ACCESS THROUGH THE INTERNET. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on aPRIL 6, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not] acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
