- Description
- On or about 19 April 2001, the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Omaha District will issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the construction of Leavenworth Bank Stabilization, Oahe Dam -- Lake Oahe, South Dakota. This solicitation is RESTRICTED to small business concern only. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 23499 (formerly SIC Code 1629), "All Other Heavy Construction" will be utilized. Bids will be opened on or about 22 May 2001. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact: The Oahe Project, US Army Corps of Engineers, 28563 Powerhouse Road, Pierre, South Dakota 57501 (mailing address), Telephone: (605) 224-5862 EXT 3206 FAX: (605)224-5945 DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit address listed above. Please see "Ordering CD-ROM" paragraph below. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. Work consists of approximately 3900 LF of shoreline erosion protection. The project will require placement of approximately 11,500 SY of geotextile fabric and 18,500 tons of riprap protection. A haul road/working platform will be constructed on the low bank around the stabilization area and will consist of approximately 11,000 CY of fill. The work will also consist of constructing an access road into the site including three crossings over dry streambeds. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications will NOT be provided in a printed hard copy format. Interested parties are required to register for the solicitation documents through the website. It is the contractor's responsibility to check the website for any amendments.
