Description

NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for One each of a Mectro Motor P/N DB08077BE1F1002 E08 with brake- 24V, 77:1 Dojen Reducer and One each of a Mectrol Motor P/N DB04016BE1F1001 E04 Special with Brake, w/306-120 16:1 Black ENG MAGNA- Dojen Reducer. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Mectrol Corporation as the only known source who can meet agency requirements. Mectrol Corp. has motors which meet the size limitations, temperature and environmental conditions as well as forces subjected to these motors in order to meet NASA'S requirements to support the Model Support System in the 20-Inch Supersonic Wind Tunnel. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on April 6, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
