Description

The Pentagon Renovation Office is soliciting technical proposals for the Heating & Refrigeration Plant (H&RP) Intake & Outfall Lines construction project. The project requires installation of two pipelines and associated structures. The new intake system will consist of an intake structure, two vertical shafts 50-70 feet deep, a tunnel 600 feet long for a 96-inch intake pipe, and a Screen House. This line will pass under Boundary Channel Drive and the Metro Yellow Line Tunnel. The new outfall line will consist of approximately 1600 feet of new 72 inch in diameter pipe. The outfall line will cross under I-395 and the CSX railroad. At least two sections of boring will be required. The acquisition will be accomplished utilizing two-phase design-build selection procedures. The Phase I solicitation is anticipated to be issued on or about April 5, 2001. Offers submitted in response to Phase I will be evaluated to determine which offerors will submit proposals for Phase II, which is anticipated to be released on or about May 29, 2001. Phase I Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will be posted on the FedBizOpps web site located at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. No hard copies of the solicitation or any amendments will be issued. One contract will be awarded using best value competitive procedures. The estimated cost range for this project is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000.
