- Description
- Purchase a Swamp Buggie Drill Rig to Support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Dam Safety Program. The Baltimore District, Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a sole source contract to Central Mine Equipment (CME) Company, St. Louis, MO, to supply a drill rig installed on a rubber-tired ATV type carrier. The Baltimore District currently utilizes CME drilling tools and the new drill rig must be compatible with existing equipment. The drill rig must have an automatic hammer with interchangeable 140# and 300# hammers; an automatic rod holder & breakout wrench; and a continuous sample tube system for obtaining soil samples from angled drillholes. Angle drilling capability is an additional requirement. For safety, environmental and operational concerns, a direct (mechanical) drive system is required on the ATV carrier. See Note 22 (except change 45 days to 10).
