Description

It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), Division of Specialized Information Services (SIS), to procure a continuation of professional web based services with Mr. Dennis Giblin, University Park, Maryland, 20782. Mr. Giblin is the original developer of the redesigned web pages for SIS. This continuation of services will be to refine and tailor the redesigned web pages based on feedback from the SIS Web group and results from limited usability testing to aid in identifying areas for improvement. The continuation of services will provide (1) modifications to redesigned web pages in response feedback received; (2) support usability tests on an as-needed basis; (3) provide recommendations for improvements to the look and feel of the database search engines; (4) develop a system of HTML modules to improve the robustness and maintainability of the SIS web site; (5) support the transition from the current SIS web site to the current system under development; (6) attend meetings and tele-conferences with selected members of SIS; and (7) documentation of the redesigned SIS web architecture. Mr. Dennis Giblin has extensive experience and documented successes in designing and managing web site architectures and presentations. His experience includes the design of the web site for the Information Systems Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), an organization of 300 computer professionals, which provide software system support of all of GSFC's space and earth science missions. The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 13 -- Simplified Acquisitions. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ), nore is an RFQ available, however, all responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide professional services as stated above. Responses should sufficiently demonstrate the firm's ability to meet the government's requirements. Responses are required within fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication date of this notice.
