Description

Background "This procurement is for a launch tube for the G Range Facility at Arnold AFB, TN. The launch tube shall be a tubular steel forging, heat-treated, and precision machined assembled, will become part of the launch system for a hypervelocity range. Quantity 1 Lot. The Period of Performance will be 270 days from contract award to Arnold AFB, TN. IFB will be posted approximately 16 March 2001 at the following Internet site:http://www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil/ The estimated order of magnitude is between $100,000.00 -- $500,000.00. Additional information: This precision machine launch tube forging is approximately 15""OD X 3.300""ID X 29.5"" long weighing 16,900lbs. Bore straightness and material properties are of utmost importance. Bore straightness certification is required during the fabrication process."
