Description

This work will be performed at the B-2 rocket engine test facility at Nasa's Plum Brook Station, Sandusky, OH. It will involve the repair, replacement, and maintenance of an existing spray bar water cooling system and associated access platforms located within an underground spray chamber which measures 140 feet high by 70 feet in diameter. This will require personnel to work at elevated levels in the confined space of the chamber. The cooling water system consists of several hundred spray nozzles fed with pipes ranging from 1-12 inches to 24 inches diameter. The work will require personnel with skills in pipefitting, rigging, welding and metal finishing. All personnel will require training in confined space work areas and fall protection. A Site Showing has been scheduled for Thursday, March 29, 2001 at 9:00 A.M. It is anticipated that there will be many questions and it is recommended that the entire morning be reserved for the Site Showing. A draft Statement of Work has been prepared and will be sent by overnight delivery prior to the Site Showing to all who request it. THIS IS MANDATORY FOR SECURITY PURPOSES. A date for the solicitation and a response deadline for proposals will be established at the Site Showing. This work will be subject to the provisions of the Davis-Bacon Act. Plum Brook Station is operated under NASA contract NAS3-00123.
