Description
1. This is a Sources Sought notice to alert the Transportation (Helicopter and Barge) community/ industry to this upcoming consultant requirement. This is not a solicitation and no proposals should be submitted in response to this informational synopsis. Parsons-UXB Joint Venture (Prime Contractor with the U.S. Navy for the Kaho`olawe Island UXO Clearance Project) wishes to compile their Bidder's List of all interested parties of a solicitation for Transportation Consultant Services. 2. Parsons-UXB Joint Venture will be issuing a solicitation for Transportation Consultant to review Parsons-UXB's transportation-related subcontracts and make recommendations on improvement of time and costs. Parsons-UXB presently has four different requirements in the transportation area: a. Inter-Island transportation Requires Subcontractor to transport approximately 300-350 personnel via helicopter (Sikorsky 61N, Bell 212, and Bell 206) to and from Kahului Heliport to Kaho`olawe Island Reserve twice a day (mobilization and extraction), four days per week (Monday through Thursday). b. Intra-Island Transportation Requires Subcontractor to transport personnel to and from their first landing on Kaho`olawe to their individual work site after mobilization and prior to extraction utilizing 4-passenger and 6-passenger aircraft. c. Cargo Transport Requires Subcontractor to transport 33,000-50,000 lbs. of cargo (fuel, water, portable toilets, etc.) per week from Pu'unene Airfield to Kaho`olawe Island Reserve. a. Barge Transportation Requires Subcontractor to transport Fuel Truck, vehicles, various bulky supplies from either Honolulu or Kahului Harbor to Kaho`olawe Island Reserve utilizing a barge with a ramp. Consultant is to review all Subcontracts, subcontractor activity and Transportation Study and make recommendations to improve timing and costs. 3. All interested parties should contact Mrs. Gloria M.
